Safe Tails

A cat collar is an essential tool in recovering a lost cat. It shows, at a glance, that the cat is not stray.

Safe Tails is the world’s first cat collar with a patented 360° breakaway buckle which achieves greater precision and durability.

It was designed to open in all directions and in any situation where the cat is in danger of being hurt by the collar, regardless of how or where the cat has became entangled.

Inspired by human wearables I designed a push-fit sizing mechanism which allows owners to fit the collar without pulling the cat’s fur.

The minimal use of rigid components, curved buckle, and the soft-touch, medical grade silicone band reduces the risk of the cat getting caught on an object and also reduces the chance of chafing the cat’s skin and fur.
